PART-TIME SHERIFFS' ASSOCIATION

The Part-time Sheriffs’ Association represents, safeguards and promotes the interests and welfare of Scottish part-time sheriffs and part-time summary sheriffs, and considers matters relating to the law and the administration of justice in Scotland.

President - Part-time Sheriff Donald Ferguson

Sheriff Ferguson was a solicitor in private practice in Edinburgh from 1981 until 2008. He has been a part-time sheriff serving all the courts of Scotland since 2005. He was previously a part-time tribunal judge and shrieval convenor on hearings before the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland. He has been President of the PTSA since November 2023.
