Apr 5, 2023
Lord Woolman stated: “The tribunals are a cornerstone of the Scottish justice system. I’m proud of my involvement with them. Morag Wise (Lady Wise) will bring expertise and experience to her new role - I wish her well.”
Lady Wise was appointed as a Senator of the College of Justice in February 2013. Having qualified as a solicitor in 1989 and worked in general civil litigation, she thereafter called to the bar in 1993 and practised in civil work, specialising in family law. Lady Wise became Queen’s Counsel in 2005, was appointed as a Senator of the College of Justice in 2013 and thereafter appointed to the First Division of the Inner House in January 2022. She also has judicial experience in tribunals, having been a judge of the Employment Appeal Tribunal for three years until December 2018.
