2024 Judicial Attitude Survey Published
Feb 24, 2025
The UK Judicial Attitude Survey (JAS) is the only known continuous survey of the working lives of judges anywhere in the world. It is conducted by the UCL Judicial Institute on behalf of the Lord President of Scotland, Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, and Lady Chief Justice of Northern Ireland.
This is the fifth running of the JAS for the salaried judiciary, and the second one to include all fee-paid judges.
The response rate to the survey in Scotland was 96% for the salaried judges and 79% for the fee-paid judiciary, significantly up from 2022.
Like its predecessors the JAS 2022 was run as an online survey conducted by the Judicial Institute of University College London.
